Whether you are in your eighties, fifties, twenties or even younger - Tastefunatic is a great place to stay for all ages! We (four people of three generations) have been at Tastefunatic at the beginning of May, witnessing nature waking up from a long winter and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and peacefulness at Calabogie Lake. The accommodation is fabulous, it was great fun cooking and baking in the huge fully equipped kitchen and having the dog Lunar always around us. The Guckes family and their pets made us feel very welcome, it was a pity we had to leave after a summery week of rest and relaxation. Tastefunatic is a lovely place for an unforgettable vacation. We're looking forward to being there again this July :)

We had a 50th birthday party at Tastefunatic with a group of 8 woman in March. We had a great time! The Guckes are so accommodating and the house we stayed in was immaculate. The food was so mouth watering. You would be hard pressed to find that kind of food and service at any five star hotel. We were served five courses and each course had something green. The green symbolized our Irish heritage as it was the week of St Patrick's day. It was a nice added touch by the Guckes. I can't wait to go back again and bring my daughters and husband!

Very nice place to stay, friendly hosts with a beautiful piece of land and a great breakfast to start the day with. Next to a nice lake with an amazing view. Also a perfect place for children, with lots of things to do! Hope very much to come back one day!!!!

I have stayed at Gunnar and Bettina's once and I'm just going back for a second time. I have recommended this wonderful place to others and they too have been impressed. Gunnar and Bettina are gentle hosts they really know how to pamper you. The dinner and breakfast were superb. A stay at Tastefunatics stimulates all of the senses and you return home feeling refreshed.

Gunnar and Bettina far exceeded my expectations for my stay in Calabogie. I’ve been to many Bed and Breakfasts and none have come remotely close to this experience. The location left me speechless on more than one occasion. Not too far from town, the track or golfing, but not in the thick of things, I never once was aware of how close to Calabogie I was while at Tastefunatic. There was a peace that comes over you, an instant tranquility that those living in cities usually spend days trying to accomplish. As well-maintained as it is, it doesn’t upset the natural balance and order of nature. I can’t quite put words to how remarkable it is there.

I didn’t have a chance to experience half the amenities available, the rooms are a scene straight out of a 5-star resort and the food was second only to the gracious and accommodating nature of my hosts. I never felt like a guest, always like a close friend there for a visit.

I have recommended Grassy Bay Getaway to a number of friends and will continue to do so as I have only the highest regard for my new friends at Tastefunatic.

Gunnar is a fantastic host and Tastefunatic is a beautiful location. That combination makes for an unforgettable experience. Do not miss Gunnar's amazing culinary creations and if you are visiting in the summer be sure to try the unconventional foot massage.

I can't wait until my next visit! Thanks Gunnar!

These hosts are world class! The accommodations are clean, classy, superb very reasonably priced for the high level of quality and service. The cooking is fantastic and done by a gourmet chef. The grounds are beautiful and natural. I enjoyed walking on the barefoot path each day, splashing in a spring water well, swimming, boating, camp fires by full moon. The family pets, including Lucy the donkey and Luna the dog, and numerous chickens and ducks provided a great deal of entertainment. The loons called each night, and I saw a wild turkey with six chicks, a beaver, heron and a splendid hawk. If you love nature and connection and want a full sensory experience that you will never ever forget, then this is the place to go!!

What a find! We discovered Tastfunatic on the BBCanada.com website, looking for a place to stay in the Calabogie Lake area. Tastfunatic is a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, wonderful food!! Gunnar and Bettina's hospitality is outstanding, they treat you just like family. The breakfasts were great, something different every morning using in-season fruits, vegetables, fresh eggs most of which is grown right on the property! Stay here, you will not be disappointed!

Wow, I cannot recommend this place enough! The location is idyllic, the scenery (including the assortment of animals walking around which make it seem like you're in a Disney movie) enthralling, the accommodations absolutely top-notch.

Then, of course, there's the food. It is difficult for me to put into words the artistry which Gunnar achieves in everything he makes..it has to be seen (and tasted) to be believed!

We drove up from New York City and would make the trip again in a heartbeat to stay here again.
